It's Not Smoke, it's Vapor! Make the Switch Today!

Personal Experiences of People Who Were Diagnosed with COPD and Used the Nicotine Vaporizer (e-cigarette)

"I had boughts of COPD. When it happened I had terrible bronchial problems; also had tightness in the chest on heavy smoking days. Just like you, it was a worry which is why I started using an extra filter on the analogs: Helped but only a little.

Felt the difference in the lungs only a few days after making the switch. Using straight PG made my throat sore so I switched to VG and it's been smooth sailing.

The latter part of March is the last time I had to use my inhaler or my Advair.

I also just saw my doctor and a BP med went bye-bye." (jj2)

"I'm going on 21 days of vaping and I have to say the lungs are feeling better all the time. My morning and night-time coughing fits have ceased and I can once more take a deep breath without discomfort. So yes, breathing is easier. Oh, I smoked for 43 years, so I know what messed up lungs feel like, shortness of breath, coughing, no energy." (Afubar)

"I'm a long time smoker, and even though I haven't quit analogs completely, I did cut down from 35-40/day to 10 and in 2 weeks, my lungs feel so much better and the sometimes wheeze that goes with my early stage COPD is gone." (rjp44)

"I have smoked for 40 years, 3 packs a day. I had developed COPD and once had pneumonia and stayed on ventilator for 11 days. I quit smoking analogs April 9 and I can' explain how much better I am. I was taking breathing treatments 4 times day. Since switching from smoking to vaping I no longer have to take these treatment and no longer cough, etc.

It is the best thing I have ever done. I think this will save my life." (martha1014)

"After 25+ years smoking I'm on second month of vaping only. I feel WAY better, lungs are clearer. Don't have the horrible morning cough. My skin looks really good. My nose works better, sinuses are clearer... Holy moley I could go on. I can do an hour easily on treadmill and not even really winded (could never before). The changes started pretty quickly.

Regarding that coughing up stuff... The tar and crap stuck in your lungs does take awhile to start moving but once lungs start working well again many start coughing up yuckies that have been there awhile.

Seriously believe no matter what FDA or anyone says - I believe firmly it is healthier than smoking - I believe what I feel  I feel BETTER!!!" (laurel099)

"Doc said that my lungs sounded better than they have in 10 (ten) TEN years!!!! Blood test results were normalized also - 3 months ago they were off - all due to smoking. I had only been vaping about 5 weeks and still smoking 3-5 analogs per day. Sometimes I really cannot believe how deeply I can BREATHE!" (frankie1)

"Before I quit cigarettes I was having very bad bouts with asthma. I was border-line COPD. Now I haven't had a cigarette since May and my lungs have completely healed and I feel better than I have in..., come to think about it, I don't remember ever feeling this good." Kevin (a2dcovert)

"I started vaping in mid-March. I had been a pack-a-day smoker for 24 yrs. Same scenario here. I to used to wheez at night, cough up lung biskits in morning... all that bad stuff.. Now my lungs are clear, the ability to breath good is awesome! I have sleep apnea, and now that is nearly gone also!" (Closet Toker)

"I smoked for 44 years 2-3 packs the last few. I do upholstery here at home, and we have pickups and deliveries, anything from foot stools to couches.

For the last 5 years or so, my breathing went into the basement. I was having issues with chronic bronchitis, asthma symptoms, severe bouts of hyperventilation, and the last couch my husband and I delivered in February I thought was going to be the last thing I ever did. I of course kept all this as hidden as I could, but was coughing constantly, short of breath (I probably do have a 'COPD' type of condition going on) but the day it took over an hour for me to stop shaking and trying to suck enough air to keep from fainting. Of course, I never went to the doctor, I knew what they'd tell me right off the bat! Not stupid! right! I'd done pursed-lip breathing, diligently, about 12 times a day, and that did help, but the attacks would come on so fast I knew it was just a matter of time. Then, I'd have to go have a cigarette, you know, that did help. Ya. My fatherinlaw had COPD for years, was a light smoker, but they always called his 'farmer's lung' which of course could have meant almost anything. Could it also be hypertension...nasty stuff, that. I was nearly at the point of being non-functioning, all I wanted to do was sit and smoke. That's about all I had the energy for.

So I told my daughter the nurse, I had ordered an electronic cigarette, and what I hoped it would accomplish. That was end of February. On March 9th, '09, my NPro arrived. The juice tasted awful, I puffed too hard and got it in my mouth, did everything wrong. But I got a few good puffs, enough to know 'hey, this could work!'. After 3 hours, I had to recharge a battery, so went for a RYO. My God, that tasted worse than that stupid e-cig, I took a couple puffs and put it out, that thing STUNK!! It was my last cigarette. That was 6 months+ ago. My coughing stopped, my energy soared, my lungs started clearing, my 'smeller' came back, and my taste buds woke up again. I still have an occasional bout of hyperventilatin, a wake up, 'oh yes, I forget to do my breathing excercise the last couple days..' see, when you're not thinking about your next breath all the time you forget! So DO remember to breath in through the nose, out through pursed lips, several times a day, make it work not wimpy. It will expand your lung capacity, tighten your core muscles, very important, and get that diaphram flexible and useful again.

This summer I was out doing yard work, push mower on a side hill, and enjoying the heck out of that workout every week! More energy than I know what to do with, feeling 1000X BETTER! Broken capillaries in my face are also nearly gone, the "coon" mask. My haggard, gray looking skin looks better, my hair grows fast and healthy again!

I'm using 18 mg/ml juice, down from 24mg, and vaping less, so am really getting a handle on this vaping thing, loving it!! It saved my life." (kate51)

"I also had all the above mentioned problems. I started vaping in June, about 3 months ago. I went to the Dr last week and he told me my lungs sounded better than the have in years. No wheezing, rumbling and grinding to be heard. I had not told him I was vaping until after the check up. He was amazed with the E cig. I use the 901. He said he was going to get info for all his other smokers. I had tried everything to quit. Chantix worked the best before the e cig. I quit for 9 monthe with the chantix but really missed smoking. I have no desire for an analog any more. I did vape more than I smoked in the begining but have leveled off now and am vaping less and less. I also started with the 36mg but now I use anything from 36mg to 0mg, depending on what I am doing. When sitting at my comp I use 0 nic and don't seem to the nic." (damunster)

"I understand exactly what you're saying. I've been there....about 3 weeks ago. Let me just say that I think you're going to be sooooo pleasantly surprised! For one thing, right now just lighting up a cigarette 'hurts' so bad when your lungs have been damaged already. And you say to yourself, 'I must be out of my mind...but I've got to do this anyway and I don't really know why!' And you continue to do it....and don't really know why. So did I.

And then a miracle happens, you discover that you can actually inhale a PV's vapor without thinking this time you might just die from it. And it doesn't hurt. And it smells and tastes fresh. And hours pass and you can't believe this is happening, that you don't even desire a cigarette any more! Instead, the very thought repulses you. As soon as the next day you can't believe how much better you feel, and every day after that is an adventure in rediscovering how good it feels to breathe, and not cough, no tickles in the throat, or noises in the lungs. And you have real energy again! You even look better. And you can lay on your back and watch TV, breathing comfortably. Indeed it's all a miracle.

Give yourself time to learn to use the PV (get a 510, very consistent little device). And take your time deciding if you want to cut down on the Nicotine. You probably were not getting any from cigarettes if you had trouble inhaling....so cutting the Nic shouldn't be too hard. Learn to make juice, have fun.

Soooo, I can't wait to hear about your progress, day to day, week to week. Don't worry, be happy, you've got hope now!" (thewomenfolk)

"I wanted to mention something that happened to me. It's been a few days over a year for me now on the e-cig. I was a 24 year smoker of 1.75 to 2 pack a day Camel unfiltered who wheezed all the time and was just about to weak to do anything useful. I would wheeze and cough myself to sleep every night, it was f'ing pathetic. I didn't even feel the air in my lungs when I inhaled it anymore. They did a scan on my lungs (Because they thought I had cancer) however they stated I had advanced emphysema in my left lung and heavy "Smoke damage" to the rest. I knew this and would wake up every morning and light a cig and HATE myself for it but I just couldn't stop (I even considered getting myself arrested because you can't smoke in jail).

Anyway, I digress. As I said it's been about a year now, I feel so much better there are no words. I actually want to go out and do stuff, I kinda enjoy cutting the lawn. I can jog short distances. I feel like I got my life back. As Kate said, I feel like it saved my life. About a week ago I was doing some intense physical labor and was winded and breathing heavy and it felt like something in my lungs snapped, it was the weirdest feeling and on my next breath on my inhale it felt like was able to inhale to my full lung capacity. Like my lungs filled ALL the way up with air. It was THE BEST FEELING I have had in years. It was wonderful, I didn't think I would ever be able to do that again.

I just thought I'd share that. I figured after a year it was as good as it was going to get, then it got better" (Darkest)

"I had an accident 5 years ago that has caused me to have to lay in a semi-lounging position since then. I have developed what is called Chronic Atelectasis in both the lower lobes of my lungs. In essence, the bottom lobes of my lungs have collapsed and were spongy. I was a 32 year smoker who had worked up to over 2 packs a day and my lungs weren't getting any better. After a month of vaping my breathing had improved and later my pulmonary function tests showed improvement. I now have air movement in my lower lungs since I started vaping. (Sorry, didn't mean to write a book, lol)

Don't wait. Find an ecig you like and get to vaping before it's too late. Your lungs will thank you for it!" (Jules22871)

"Hi folk. I remembered. Long and slow. I was so excited. The darn mail man didn't even bother to knock and I had to go pick it up. I hadn't even slept yet, so was pretty tired. I stayed up to play with this thing. I just love it. I can't believe how much better my breathing is already. I'm having to remember to take my puffers. Normally my body lets me know when I need them. I still need a few real cigs since I don't have any nicotine. Gotta get some. I can even inhale with this thing and it doesn't hurt a bit. I'm really surprised with my breathing improvement . So quickly. I usually get up and have to hack and cough for a long time to get rid of all the crap in there just so I can breath and I need the puffers to open it all up just so I can hack it up. Not today. I hardly had any cough and almost no crap to cough up. Unbelievable. I wish I could have found out about all this a long time ago. Like Darkest said. It's wonderful. I can actually see me quitting the real cigs now; something I never thought possible before." (samysam1313)
