Guidelines

The following are the guidelines we ask vendors to meet if they want to sponsor National Vapers Club events.

The FDA has failed to provide the vaping community with regulations to protect consumers of electronic cigarettes. Although there has not been one case of illness or harm reported in many years of use of unregulated use of the product, some regulation is necessary in every industry.

National Vapers Club (NVC) has set guidelines for vendors to participate in events hosted by NVC. We have asked all the major online communities to consider adopting these guidelines for ALL sponsoring vendors. It is up to them whether they do so.

Required for participation in NVC events…

~Vendors should avoid selling nicotine liquid containing levels over 6% nicotine content (60 mg/ml) to e-cigarette consumers, however it is acceptable to sell to e-cigarette vendors with proof of company ownership at levels up to 10% (100mg/ml) when intended for dilution.

~Any nicotine liquid over 3.6% (36 mg/ml) should include an MSDS sheet and an informational pamphlet to explain that it should not be used as is, but is meant to be diluted and mixed. (We can provide this info if needed.) Must link to pdf file MSDS sheet and symptoms page on our site or the vendors own site from online product page. In person must have sheet available and url on bottle/product.

~Website and advertising can NOT make health claims about the product or show testimonials which make any health claims even if they are stated as opinions. *

~No sales may be permitted to anyone who is not old enough to purchase tobacco in the state of purchase of the e-cigarette product.

~Packaging and advertisements for e-cigarette products must not contain cartoon characters or packaging geared towards youth.

~May not offer products which reference either prescription; or illegal drug flavors or effects.

~Should have a quality product and acceptable customer service practices, by standards of the community (confirmed by online reviews).

~Must not allow automatic “subscriptions” (repeated charges for continuing shipments of refill cartridges/cartomizers)

~Must be of legal smoking age to be a part of NVC sponsored events.

~All liquid nicotine must have childproof caps by 2013 to remain in compliance. If you need help with childproof packaging we can make recommendations on that. We can also put you in touch with other vendors for bulk orders.

~All liquids MUST have packaging changed over by 2013 to show PERCENTAGE of nicotine in the liquid, rather than or in addition to mg/ml. (6mg/ml= 0.6%)

~By 2013 all product packaging must contain warning labels standard to the nicotine containing products being sold in the retailer's state which should include symptoms of nicotine excess/overdose and contraindications.

~By 2013, all vendors must include on product labeling a list of ingredients contained in the product according to specifications for consumables in the USA. (Contact us for details on how to label) Or a pamphlet with that information. Alternately, a link to a website printed onto the packaging that provides all the ingredients in the product will be acceptable.

~By 2013 all liquids must be tested for DEG and shown to be free from contamination.

~By 2013 all companies must agree to random “per batch” lab testing of their liquids every 60-90 days. Single samples should cost no more than $300 per quarter ($100 per month).

~By 2013, must financially support research on the health effects of the product.

*Vendors wishing to give scientific data to their customers may consult their lawyer about posting a link to our medpack on their site.

This list is subject to change at our discretion after discussion with vendors. We hope that a vendors regulatory body will be organized by 2013 and that they will take on this huge task, but if there is not one by then... we will do our best to provide these guidelines and help you meet them to protect our community and your businesses.

Thanks to all of you for making this community so special and for helping save lives while you make a living!

If there is anything WE can do for YOU… PLEASE do not hesitate to let us know!
